March 30, 2010

On Sunday, March 21, 2010, Engine Three was dispatched to Caroline County for the motor vehicle accident. Once arrived, the crew from Engine 3 noticed a Dodge Neon pinned against a tree with two people trapped. Lieutenant Richter "OIC" reported to command "Captain Melson" where engine 3 was assigned to do a winch operation. Sergerant McNeil and Firefighter Richards worked on placing chains around the frame of the vehicle. A change of direction was perform using the winch off of squad 2 to move the vehicle away from the tree. Once the car was on four wheel Engine 3 started cutting operations on the drivers side while Caroline worked on the passengers side. The driver was DOA and the passenger was flown to the hospital.
