Rescue Engine 1 was alerted to assist Spotsylvania Sheriffs Office with a dog stuck in storm drain. Once arrived on scene they alerted for TRT team to assist with operations. Units from Ladder 10 and Rescue 4, Battalion Chiefs 1,2 and 4, Chief 1 and EMS 2 all responded to assist. After several minutes of trying to make access point to storm drain crews located an open storm pipe where the dog may have made entry the crews then began process to get the dog to self remove itself from the siruation. Moments later the dog found her way out of the open storm pipe to Lt. McGhee and was returned to her owner. Special thanks to Spotsylvania County Sheriffs Animal Control Officer who assisted with the operations.
