The Auxiliary were summoned to Charlottesville on Saturday August 12th as hundreds of protesters marched on the city for a Unite the Right rally. A 32-year-old woman was killed when a vehicle sped into the crowd and scores of other counterprotesters were injured.
But three women served hot meals to first responders reminding the world that good people still exist. These women assembled plates with Hot dogs and hamburgers. They were stationed near the police, they received regular briefings on the status of the protests, which initially helped them feel safe.
