January Comes To An End With Working Structure Fire
FEBRUARY 01
- The Beginning of the year has been busy for Spotsylvania Volunteer Fire Department. Stations have seen a large number working fires and the month came to close with another one. Around 11:40 pm crews were dispatched to a possable structure fire at 7220 Snow Hill Drive in Snow Hill Subdivision. Fire Destroys Lees Parke Home
JANUARY 23
- On Saturday January 23 just after noon units were dispatched to a working structure fire in Lees Parke subdivision on Big Bethal Circle . When units arrived on the scene they reported heavy fire conditions in the garage spreading into the residence. - On Friday January 22, 2010 The Spotsylvania Vol. Fire Department watched the biggest part of its history go away to progress. Company One that stood on American Legion Drive and served as the central location and mother station to the department was demolished to make way for a new county courthouse complex. Second Structure Fire for Some County Stations

- As units were starting to clear from the working fire on BelleGrove Ln a report of a second structure fire on Stubbs Bridge Rd was reported. Units were on scene quickly to find fire coming from the air condition unit spreading to the deck and beginning to envolve the house. Fire Destroys Home On Belle Grove Ln.
JANUARY 10
- On Sunday Round 12:06 units were dispatched to a Structure fire on Belle Grove Ln off Matta Way. When the first Unit arrived on the scene they reported one single family home fully envolved which was mostly caved in. Personnel then began to pull a line to begin extiguishing the blaze. MVA on I95 Claims One Life
JANUARY 05
- On Tuesday night around 10:00pm units were dispatched to MVA on I 95 near the 117 mile marker. When units arrived on the scene they reported multiple patients entrapped one possible DOA. Car Fire Endangering Structure Mt. Olive Rd.
JANUARY 04
- On Monday evening units were dispatched to a vehicle fire endangering a structure on Mt Olive Rd in the southern part of Spotsylvania. When units arrived on the scene they found a very narrow drive way which made it difficult to get a pumper down. Brush trucks were then sent down the driveway to investigate. First Working Structure fire of New Year Displaces Mother and Daughter
JANUARY 02
- Units were dispatched to working structure fire on Lyons Ln. In the western part of Spotsylvania County. Units arrived on the scene to notice a farm house a third of the way involved and heavy fire conditions. The house was a good way off the road which made water supply a challenge and a tanker task force was added. Units from as far away as Company 9 were dispatched to assist with the water supply. ...
